The Laspi Bay is located in Balaklava district of Sevastopol.
It is 12.3 km lengthwise. The bay got its name at the time of territory settlement
by the ancient Greeks. In Greek "laspi" means dirt. A large number
of geothermal sources that were rich in hydrogen sulfide became a reason of
this name. Laspi Bay is famous for its wild beaches, camping and tourist sites.
Climbers take an interest in the bay because of the 664 m high Kush Kaya
mountain. Divers from all over the world are attracted to i underwater world
with countless grottoes, underwater labyrinths and clear water.
In the Laspi Bay the cleanest sea in the Crimean shore. Bay Laspi can be found
on the southern coast of the Crimea, about 30 km from the city of Sevastopol.
Because of the extraordinary purity and reflectivity of the water in the Bay
Laspi, here was built a special mussel culture "plantations", which are grown,
delicious shellfish. The main attraction of the valley of Laspi is its unique
nature. The valley is in fact rare mountain refuge from the whimsical Crimean
climate, which disappeared many rare plants.
